What We Do

The Indiana County Sports Hall of Fame holds an annual induction banquet each May to:

• Induct individuals who achieved athletic excellence in the past.
• Present scholarships to two scholar-athletes from each of the nine high schools in the county.
• Recognize one individual for longtime service to area athletes.
• Recognize individuals and teams that have made an impact on local sports in the past year.

Qualifications For Induction

Candidates are nominated by members of the Indiana County Sports Hall of Fame. Membership dues are $10 a year for annual membership or $100 for a lifetime membership. The Hall's screening committee then narrows the list to the most qualified, who are voted upon by the Board of Directors.

There are two categories which cover living and deceased athletes who were born or raised in the area or who participated in some phase of sports in the area.

The candidates must have been retired from the sport or position a minimum of three years - or been in the sport or position a minimum of twenty-five years — or reached their 55th birthday. The deceased candidates must have been deceased a minimum of one year prior to induction.
